Donna Saull

Donna Saull is an award winning Canadian artist who was born and raised in Montreal and has lived in Oakville Ontario since 1985.  She has a BSc. from Concordia University, and further education in languages and fine art courses at Sheridan College, Haliburton School of Art and Design, the McMichael Collection Gallery, Fleming College and the Toronto School of Art. She has also studied under many accredited art teachers in courses given at the art associations to which she belongs.  She is a member of The Etobicoke Art Group, Visual Arts Mississauga, Artworks Oakville, and Neilson Park Creative Centre.  She is on the gallery committee of Neilson Park Creative Centre.

She has travelled extensively and has experienced the art of many cultures.  In the summer of 2010 serendipity led her to a course in Impressionist & Expressionist Landscape given by John Leonard at the Haliburton School of Art and Design. He suggested she join the Etobicoke Art Group – a group of accomplished artists in the GTA; in retrospect, it was a compliment, as he must have seen some spark in her work (or her wit).   Since then she has evolved into a non objective / abstract artist.  She works mainly in acrylic, oils and ‘found objects’.    Her figurative works are dictated by the impression she gets from the model as well as the pose, and are quite unique.   

Her work as an artist was first recognized in 2011 when she was awarded an ‘Honourable Mention in the Visual Arts Mississauga Valentine show.  In 2013 she was awarded the 1^st place prize for ‘2 Dimensional Art’ in the Milton Annual Juried Art Show., and in 2016 she was awarded 1st place in 'Impact' Neilson Park Creative Centre 34th Annual Juried Exhibition.  Since 2011 she has been in 1 solo show and 59 group shows - of which 24 were juried shows.

Donna’s art can be found in private and corporate collections across Canada.
